Foundations of Wealth

Foundations of Wealth is a research initiative developed in partnership with University of Washington students through the iSchool's Capstone and Practicum program. The project aims to better understand the factors contributing to the U.S. wealth gap and identify practical, evidence-based strategies to improve financial inclusion and wealth-building opportunities.

Student researchers examine publicly available data, emerging technologies, and community-based approaches to produce interactive dashboards, research reports, and communication tools that make complex economic issues more accessible. The project also explores how policy innovation, financial technology, and education can help expand economic opportunity across diverse communities.

As the project progresses, WACEFE will share research findings, reports, visualizations, and additional resources to support educators, policymakers, students, and community leaders interested in advancing economic mobility and financial education.
